Hi everyone  – welcome to my first blog hop!

The lovely sketch for this month was provided for us
by Karen McDonald:

I love the sketch that we were given for today, it was clean and simple and allowed for me to use some of my favourite stamps and punches.

I chose to mix these beautiful colours together – the Night of Navy ink contrasts so well with the Calypso Coral ink and they both look lovely when teamed up with one of my current favourites, Tip Top Taupe.

The spotty heart stamp from the Hello Life stamp set is very cute – I chose to do the middle heart in Calypso Coral because I wanted to use the Calypso Coral chevron ribbon that has been sitting in my stash for ages! I love the Sweetheart punch – I used some of the lovely paper from the Love Blossoms paper pack, the colour is a perfect match for the Tip Top Taupe card that I used as one of my layers.

I had fun making this card, I hope you have enjoyed it. Thank you to Karen McDonald for providing the lovely sketch for this card. Please click on the links below to check out the lovely cards on the next and previous blogs!

Welcome Baby

Hello everyone, I hope you have had a great weekend! At least the sun has been shining (well mostly!)

I haven’t made any new baby cards for a while, so when I saw this gorgeous little lamb I knew it was the perfect stamp to welcome a little one. I very rarely make any of my cards alike, as I like to keep each one unique – even as part of a set they will vary slightly. However, although I have used a change of colour between the two cards I opted for the same layout as I thought it worked well.

When buying baby cards, it is so often the case that it’s a choice of blue or pink, and I wanted to do something a little different. So, for the baby girl card, although I have used pink for the balloon, I chose to pick the yellow out of the spotty paper as the main colour.

For the baby boy card I chose this gorgeous shade of green patterned paper and paired it up with taupe. I felt the cards looked a little unfinished, so that was when I decided to add a balloon. I love the little balloon punch that I have so I thought that was a cute addition along with the twine and buttons.

So, there we have my project for this week. These cards were very simple to make, so I hope you are inspired by the colours, the layout or some other aspect of these cards, to come up with your own creations!

Have a great week,

With Love

Hello and welcome to this weeks blog!

This cute little set of cards in a decorated box makes the perfect gift. Sometimes choosing a gift for someone can be difficult – but if you know someone who enjoys sending letters or notes, then this is the gift for them. These cards and box are super easy to make and you can make them with a particular person in mind, choosing their favourite colour and choosing a theme of something they like.

For this set, I chose trees as my theme with different colours and blossoms to vary them. I have picked some of my favourite colours from the Stampin’ Up inks that I own, using the matching card stock as a layer in the cards. I used 4″ x 4″ cards to fit perfectly into this cute little box.

On each card I used the lovely heart line from the Hello Life stamp set, it’s very sweet and delicate and added a nice little touch at the bottom of each tree. My favourite tree is the one with the little rosebuds, I love the stamp but its also such a pretty colour, I used Perfect Plum ink pad and the little rosebuds from the Floral Wings stamp set.

I chose Lost Lagoon card stock to make the box as it is also a beautiful colour, and used the coordinating Wildflower Fields paper for the heart to decorate the box along with the cute wooden wording.

I hope you have enjoyed my project this week – maybe it will inspire you to make a gift like this for a friend!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great and crafty week!!

P.S Some of these colours and cardstock will be retiring soon – grab some while you can!

Just a Note

Hello everyone, I know it’s Monday again – the weekend flies by but I hope you have had a good weekend!

I get my inspiration for my crafts from all over the place, but I still am sometimes surprised at where it can jump out from! I was brushing my teeth and glanced in the mirror at the ancient t-shirt I was wearing and suddenly thought “I could make a card like that”! My t-shirt doesn’t have butterflies on it but it is grey with lilac and grey swirls on it.

I knew exactly what colours of card and ink to use, as Stampin’ Up has the perfect shades of card that I needed, and I have also recently bought a new ink pad set with a lovely grey shade. I hope you can see the shades – I took photos in two separate areas and the colours look slightly different in each!

I also knew that in one of my many boxes of stamps I had a lovely stamp set of swirls, but I had to rummage to find it! The butterflies were easier though as I have loads of butterfly stamps. I enjoyed dragging out craft supplies that I hadn’t used in ages though!

Anyway, I hope you like the end result – all from a shabby old t-shirt! Remember inspiration can come from anything around you!!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope this weeks card gives you some inspiration!
