Hi everyone, I know its been a while since I blogged – I’ve been super busy making invitations for my son’s wedding! However I am very pleased to be taking part in the Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge for August. For this month Jillian Selwood has provided this sketch for us to work with:
When I saw this sketch the squares on it made me think of a “z-fold” card – I have recently done one for a challenge group I am part of so thought this sketch lent itself very well to another one, so this is what I came up with:
I really love the papers in the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper Pack, the colours are gorgeous – the wood effect one is especially nice I think. I decided, of course, that a butterfly is a must on this card – the Butterflies Framelits Dies are a favourite of mine. I also die cut the word “Love” for the inside of the card.
I hope that you like my card for this month’s challenge – click on the next and previous buttons to check out the gorgeous creations my fellow demonstrators have made,
Hi and welcome to the final design team blog of the month! I have been very privileged to have taken part in this design team and I really hope that you have enjoyed my projects.
So for the final project I have used the same flower stamp as last week but in a totally different way. I dont think I have ever outgrown colouring in, and this beautiful flower lends itself so well to that. I used Stampin’ Up’s gorgeous watercolour pencils – although I decided not to actually watercolour with them, but just to use them as normal pencils. They are so lovely to use, very soft and smooth. I have also used them to watercolour, as you may have seen in a previous blog, and they are great to use either way.
I also wanted to show off one of the gorgeous papers in the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper stack. The paper I chose is in Old Olive, a really lovely shade of green, and one of the things that I really like about this set of papers is that some of these patterns have a “watercolour wash” style. I’m not sure if you can see it in the photographs but the paper subtly fades from one side accross to the next.
Well I have really enjoyed my month of being in the Pootler’s Design Team and have loved playing with this stamp set. I do hope that you have enjoyed my projects too. As always I have provided the links in case you would like to have a closer look at the products I used or wish to purchase them – or maybe you already have them and would like to recreate this project yourself!
Hi everyone and welcome to another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge blog hop!. For anyone new to my blog this is a challenge that I take part in once a month with some fellow crafters. Usually we are given a sketch to work with, but this month is slighlty different – we have been given four Stampin’ Up colours, definitely a challenge!
These are the colours that have been picked for us:
They are lovely colours and I really enjoyed working with them. It took me a while to manage to come up with something using all four colours, but I got there!
I used the Falling Flowers stamp set and it’s coordinating framelits dies, May Flowers. I love this stamp set as there is so much you can do with it. I love the flourish and chose it as a background, along with the smallest flower in the set, for my bold die cut flower.
I really had fun playing around with this stamp set and these colours, I hope you like the end result. My fellow crafters have come up with some amazing projects using these same colours, so make sure that you use the buttons below to go and have a look.

Hi, and welcome to week 3 of The Pootler’s Design Team blog. I have had so much fun experimenting with this set! This week I wanted to do something other than a card so had to put my thinking cap on. I have a little box that sits on my desk with post-it notes in it, so I decided to copy the design and see how it turned out.
I was really pleased with the end result – it turned out to be a super easy box to make, all I really had to do was think of the design for the top. To make the box I used the gorgeous new Fresh Fig card stock from the new catalogue, I think it is definitely one of my favourite colours so far this year.
I used a little bit of the new Powder Pink ribbon to make a wee tag to open the box – then of course I HAD to go and buy some chocolates to see how they would fit in the box!!
In the end I decided to make a card as well to match the box as I was really pleased with how cute the box turned out.

Hi everyone and welcome to week two of this beautiful stamp set – Remarkable You!
I am really enjoying playing with this stamp set – the flowers are so beautiful and lend themselves to so many techniques and designs. This week I decided to combine a couple of different techniques in this card – masking and spritzing.
I stamped the image of the flower, then I did a duplicate one and cut it out. I layed the cut out flower on top of the original flower and stamped the leaves over the top so they would appear as if they were behind the flower. Next I stamped a dupicate leaf set – I put the leaf and the flower masks on the originals and then I spritzed the backgound.
It was a little time consuming for such a simple looking card, but I love the way it has turned out – I really hope you do too!

Hi everyone and welcome to my latest blog. I feel very priviledged that I have been picked as a Pootler’s Design Team Member for the month of June. Pootles (AKA Sam Hammond) is a wonderfully talented crafter and she chooses people each month to design a card that will feature on her blog. So for the month of June myself and four other crafters will be blogging for the Design Team every Thursday. I will be featuring the same stamp set over the next four weeks, showing different ways it can be used.
The stamp set picked for this month is a beautiful floral one called Remarkable You.
I absolutely love one of the new Stampin Up colours for this year – Tranquil Tide, and thought it was perfect for the flower I used in this card. As its such a strong colour I decided to just use it along with Whisper White and not add any other colours into the mix. The designer series paper pack Delightful Daisies has this beautiful paper, which has a faded, or distressed look which I love!
I really hope you enjoyed my card this week and that you will come back and take a look next Thursday to see what else I have come up with. This stamp set is a beautifully versatile set that I am really enjoying playing with!
