Hi everyone and thank you for joining me for this months blog hop. If you follow the links at the bottom of the page you can enjoy all the wonderful cards made from this months sketch. The lovely sketch for this month was provided for us by Karhleen Rintoul-Waite.

I was quite excited by this months sketch as it has several layers and I love layers! I decided to use the opportunity to do a last showcase of some of the retiring/ recently retired products as I am going to miss using them on my blogs.

The in-colours 2014-16 were lovely, my favourites being Blackberry Bliss and Lost Lagoon. I also really loved the Wildflower Fields paper from Sale-a-bration. So I picked one of the beautiful papers from Wildflower Fields and teamed it up with Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon and Delightful Dijon Cardstock.

As any of my regular readers will know, I absolutely love the Itty Bitty flower punch and will be sorry to see it go, so I made sure I made good use of it on this card.

Although I am sad to see some of these lovely items leave, the good news is that there will soon be lots of fab new items available! That’s why I thought this lovely sentiment was very appropriate for this card – the best is yet to come with lots of gorgeous new products on their way! And the punched flower by the sentiment is the petite petals punch, which I am very happy to see is staying in the new catalogue.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you like my take on this months sketch – don’t forget to follow the links to see all the amazing cards inspired by this fab sketch!

For The New Two

Hi everyone, I hope you all enjoyed the weekend. We seem to have lost the sunshine but hopefully it will be back soon!

I love making wedding cards, so I was really happy this last week to have several commissioned wedding cards. I was really pleased with the way this one has turned out so I decided to share it with you.

I have been looking for an excuse to use this lovely stamp set “for the new two” and I love the Crumb Cake card stock so that was the starting point for this card! I found the lovely flowery paper in my stash – I’m afraid I can’t remember what it is called but it couldn’t have been a better match for Crumb Cake.

I love my flower punches and I use them whenever I can, as you may have noticed if you regularly read my blog! I decided to use all three of them on this card, layering the Pansy punch with the Petite Petals and using some Itty Bitty flowers and Petite Petals at the top of the card.

I inked the edges of the flowers with crumb cake to soften the edges and I think it has made them stand out beautifully. I stamped the sentiment in the darker Early Espresso ink.

So that is the first wedding card in what I know will be many – I hope you like it and I hope it will give you some ideas as the busy wedding season starts!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great week!

25 Years!!

Hi everyone and welcome to this weeks blog, I hope that you are enjoying the beautiful weather that we are having just now!

This weeks featured card is the kind of card that I love to make. I think it is an amazing achievement to be celebrating 25 years of marriage. My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary last year and it feels wonderful to me that I have been with the man I love for more than half my life. So I was more than happy when I received 2 commissions recently for silver wedding cards.

I decided to go with the traditional grey/silver and white for this card although I have varied for other silver wedding cards with a splash of colour. I do think the traditional in this case is quite elegant, and the Basic Grey and Whisper White cardstock complement each other perfectly.

I love this little sentiment “happy together” taken from A Dozen Thoughts stamp set – sadly this is one of the stamp sets retiring soon – as is the Washi Label punch that I used for the sentiment.

Of course, for me, the card was not complete without adding the cute Itty Bitty flower punch, which I stamped first using Pictogram Punches stamp set.

I enjoyed making this card and hope that I have to make many more of them in the future!!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you enjoyed this weeks project.

Just Because

Hello everyone! I hope you have been enjoying the beautiful sunshine over the past few days.

I always like to have a few cards on standby for various occasions that crop up, so I decided to make this small gift set for those “just because” occasions. I also really wanted an excuse to use this lovely sentiment – it’s written in such a lovely font!

I decided to keep this set simple – so once I had decided which stamps and punches to use, my only variation was the colours. I have quite a collection of ink pads, and I have my favourite colours, so I thought it would be a good idea to challenge myself to pick colours that I have either never or infrequently used. I finally settled on these five lovely colours – Pool Party, Pear Pizzaz, Wisteria Wonder, Calypso Coral and So Saffron. I used Soft Suede for the sentiment.

I really love the Flower Shop stamp set, so I chose to use it for my main focus on the card. I also wanted to use the Itty Bitty flower punch as it is retiring soon – plus it is a huge favourite of mine!

I made a replica of the front of one of the cards to feature on the front of the gift bag. I love this dotty paper from Schoolhouse DSP, it was the perfect colour match for the Pool Party card front. I was really pleased to discover among my paper scraps papers that matched my choices of ink perfectly to use for the Itty Bitty flowers, that was a complete coincidence!

I hope you like this set of cards – it would make a lovely gift to someone so they always have a card on hand.

Enjoy the rest of the week, lets hope the sun stays out!

P.S There isn’t very long left to grab the retiring items, take advantage while you can – don’t forget to use the hostess code when you shop, you can find it on the right hand side of this page!
